Duties of the Fire Warden

For

This course is designed specifically for those personnel who has a designated fire responsibility, Fire Warden / Marshall working in industry, commerce or the public sector.

Aims

To provide participants with a greater awareness of the threat posed by fire and the actions to be taken upon the discovery of a fire.

Learning Objectives

On completion of the training successful candidates should be able to:
estimated annual cost to society through accidents and ill health is £11 to £16 billion Execute their duties as a fire warden / Marshall.
25 million working days are lost annually Understand the nature of the fire and how it spreads.
25000 people are forced to give up work through injury Distinguish between different types of extinguishers and their correct ' applications'.

Outline Programme

The course includes sessions on:

On-site investigation Fire Safety Legislation.
Taking of witness statements Combustion Principles.
Gathering of evidence, measurements, photographs Evacuation Principles.
Collation of supporting documentation Duties of the Fire Warden / Marshall.
Collation of supporting documentation Theory of Fire Extinguishment.
Collation of supporting documentation The selection and use of fire extinguishers.
Collation of supporting documentation Practical exercise using various extinguishers.
