UKATA - Asbestos Awareness
For

The course is aimed at personnel who may in connection with their normal duties come into contact with materials that may contain asbestos, as required by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.

It is also appropriate for supervisory / management personnel as an introduction to the subject.

The course has been accredited by the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA).

Aims
To provide an understanding of the health effects associated with asbestos materials
To provide the attendees with an appreciation of the new legislation
To enhance the awareness of employees in relation to asbestos containing materials

Learning Objectives

On completion of the training successful candidates should be able to:
Identify typical products & materials that contain asbestos.
Understand the health hazards associated with asbestos.
Responsibilities imposed by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006

The course includes sessions on:
History of asbestos.
Types of asbestos.
Health hazards associated with asbestos.
Products & Materials.
Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006
Asbestos - management options.
Course assessment (multiple choice).

Assessment:
Candidates are required to complete a short multiple choice question paper at the end of the course, to confirm their understanding.
